How to Make Homemade Bread – Tips & Tricks

I love love love making bread. Love it. I love the way the yeast smells as it ferments. I love the way the dough feels when I’m shaping a loaf. I love the smell of fresh bread right out of the oven. And most of all I love the taste and texture of good homemade bread.

I’ve been experimenting lately with different breads. I’m not going to lie, it can be hard, time consuming, and tiring. But these experiments are well-worth it in my opinion. Light Brioche Buns

You were looking at my Turkey Burger recipe and wondering about the bun, weren’t you? No, I didn’t buy them at the supermarket — I have this thing about fresh baked bread (love love love it), so I can’t resist every opportunity to make it. Burger night is no exception.

The inspiration for making these was a restaurant that, sadly, does not make these anymore. But back in the day, they had the best turkey burger I had ever had. Easy French Bread Recipe

Crusty on the outside, cloud-like on the inside. Isn’t that what you look for in a dinner roll? So much the better when they’re warm, right out of the oven. Slice it open and a plume of steam puffs out and the aroma is just overwhelming. Yeah, I have a thing for bread. A love thing…

The good news is that with the use of active dry yeast and the dough hook of a stand-mixer, these rolls are easy (and fun) to make! (more…)
