Hello my friends. Been another hot minute. As most of you are by now probably aware, I resigned from my post at Wine Enthusiast at the end of 2024. 🙀

Yeah. But I’ve got a few fun updates that have happened since that time.

First, I entered a little writing contest, submitting one of my last feature-length pieces at WE, entitled Back to Back to the Land: Regeneration from generational farmers in California’s greenest AVA. Have a read. Enjoy. It combines two of my favorite topics, regenerative viticulture and under-represented wine regions.

Ok, then what? Oh yeah, I joined the local Napa-Sonoma chapter of Women for Wine Sense.

AAAAAAAaaaaand I’ve been lining up some freelance gigs as I keep my eyes peeled for my next permanent, full-time opportunity. Lots in the works, but I can share the latest two pieces in the February issue of Somm Journal.

Winery Spotlight Column: Prescience and Progress at Davis Bynum – The legendary winery that put the Russian River Valley on the map furthers its quality and quality-driven legacy. [Thanks to Greg Morthole for a really fun and educational interview here. I could have written a multi-spread feature filled with his technical knowledge and passion for his work.]

Sommelier Spotlight: A People Business – Desmond Echavarrie, MS, traces his journey from wine service to boutique distribution and production. [Thanks to Des for a stellar conversation. His energy is just captivating and catching.]

Ok…what else? I feel like I’m forgetting things, but like I said, there’s a lot of stuff in the works that I can’t quite publish yet. So stand by.

And…I don’t know. How are you all doing? [My possibly imaginary audience. lol]

Look a puppy!
