Although this wine is a bit pricier than what I’d normally deem a “Daily Drinker,” I find that I can’t help but come back to this wine again and again. Delicious, accessible, reliable, it’s the kind of wine that when I know I want it, I just make a bee-line for it. Price be darned.

Event: 40th Annual San Francisco Union Street Festival
Local artists, unique products, festive food, and of course craft beer and fine wine — this is what San Francisco is known for. And what better place to celebrate all things SF than on trendy Union Street in the upscale Pacific Heights district? Special Sipper: Evening Land 2010 Pinot Noir
Evening Land 2010 Pinot Noir is one of those wines kept in the cellar to age and enjoy at it’s prime of life. Best between 2013 and 2019, I thought a 2016 experience of this wine would be ideal. But I’ll tell you right now, it wasn’t just ideal, it was perfection…

Rutherford Hill’s 2012 Merlot could honestly be either a Daily Drinker or a Special Sipper. Since it’s completely affordable but has that essence “de” fancy — I say stock up and enjoy for any occasion, big or small.

Overcast clouds and a bit of rain didn’t stop the Bay Area from some big bites at Fremont’s Burger & Brew Fest last Saturday.

The Breweries: Das Brew / Hanger 24 / Speakeasy / Mendocino Brewing Company / Golden Road Brewing / Stone Brewing Co. / Peak Organic / Goose Island / Elysian / 10 Barrel Brewing Co. / Deschutes Brewery / Shock Top / BudLight / Joe IPA
Now, I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a bit of a light weight when it comes to beers. But, like I said, with so many options at the Brew Fest, I knew I was bound to find something to appease my picky tastebuds….
