Vermouth is an aromatized, fortified wine. The drink is so immersed in cocktail culture that it often flies under the wine-education radar, though it is, indeed, made from a base wine, fortified, infused with botanicals, and sweetened to varying degrees. . The Path to Industry-Wide Adoption of Regenerative The Path to Industry-Wide Adoption of Regenerative Viticulture: For regenerative viticulture to make a meaningful impact on the wine industry, it needs to be adopted by both boutique wineries and high-volume producers—can it be done? . I had the pleasure of researching and reporting on the nuances of regenerative viticulture for @sevenfiftydaily If you follow me, you know this is a topic near and dear to my heart. Special thanks to @cainethompson head of sustainability for O’Neill Vintners & Distillers @oneillwines; @stephen_de_mirabeau of Domaine Mirabeau and the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation @regenerativeviticulture; @petite.sarah of @maggyhawk and @windracerwines and the whole @jacksonfamilywines team; @familiatorreswines and of course @bonterra and @regenerativeorganic as well as a plethora of other folks who interviewed for this piece and answered all my nerdy Viti questions in an effort to better understand and communicate on this uber important topic. . Humans, if there’s one takeaway in this piece, hear this now: . “We can’t farm if people aren’t buying our wines,” says Bonterra’s Brinkley. “I’d love to see a whole lot of consumer fire for regenerative or even organic. That’s when and where I think producers will respond.” . Adds O’Neill’s Thompson: “In order for adoption to advance, it will come down to consumers seeking our regenerative-certified brands and retailers and restaurateurs seeking regenerative-certified wines for their stores and restaurants.” . I’ve been going to more concerts lately and this one was by far my fav. @katenash music has gotten me through a lot and she just continues to innovate and push boundaries and … yeah. Amazing. . This was her last stop on her tour. Stoked I got to see it. . Side note: I’ve never met another Kate Nash fan, and the room was packed with such a beautifully eclectic mix of humans. Good art spans the spectrum.
